Business Forum: “Discussing the issues of developing Consumer Goods sector: current situation and obstacles for development”

Aims and objectives:

Developing private sector and increasing the manufacture of consumer goods is the priority direction of the governmental economic policy. With this aim currently, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CCI) in assistance of UNDP organizing business forum within the framework of Expert Council on sector-specific development. The main activity of the business-forum will be directed at revealing the problems, preparing the proposals on elaborating legislation, which is expected to assist in creating most favorable business and investment climate in the sphere of manufacture and trade of consumer goods.

During the business-forum it is planned to discuss such several conceptual issues as: discussing problems of general consumer goods sector, review of the current situation within the consumer goods sector of Uzbekistan and existing problems of its development, tax and customs regulation of consumer goods sector, identifying solutions for existing problems.
