Aims and objectives: In an effort for further partnership formation of the government and international organization, private sector and civil society, UNDP in Uzbekistan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the republic of Uzbekistan, on June 1,2007 organized presentation of the initiatives directed on private sector development in Uzbekistan on the theme “Private sector development: necessity of cooperation ". Activity took place in the “Amir Temur” conference hall of the “Intercontinental” hotel. In the activity participated representatives of government key ministries and departments, responsible for working out and conducting policy in social economic sphere, Chamber of Commerce and industry, representatives of foreign chamber of commerce and social institutions, number of embassies in Uzbekistan and representatives of international organizations, and managers of the enterprises – members of Chamber of Commerce and industry and expert community.

Questions: During the activity were presented detailed information about the project’s present activity and perspective plans for technical support to the participants, carried out in Uzbekistan by UNDP, in particular in such spheres as tax and custom reform, export and import promotion and public-private partnership, territory development and agriculture, access and statistic quality improvement y and so on. Participants also had an opportunity to carry out exchange of views on questions brought up during the presentation and problems in the area of private sector on the country.
