Aims and objectives: On April 19, 2007 in the Center for economic research was carried out business forum, during the discussion was made presentation on the theme “Uzbekistan on the crossroads – transport and transit".

Questions: The main issues to be considered in the presentation were: problems and perspectives of transport sector development of the republic of Uzbekistan, and also opportunities of becoming Uzbekistan transit country. Basic problems, according to presentation are: wearing infrastructure, low competitiveness\low profitability of the traffic. Besides that in the presentation were reviewed opportunities and threats for further development of transport sector. On the discussion were submitted issues of further development of transit potential, optimization and perfection of the transport branch and perfection and necessity in the modernization of given branch.
