In frame of EC on: On export promotion and trade facilitation

Aims and objectives: on February 13, 2007 in the context of “Business forum” project was conducted round table of EC on promotion of export on concept report discussion “Stimulation and creation of conditions for the economy diversification” the discussion of the project concept of the report “Stimulation and creation of the conditions for economy diversification: special economic zones in Uzbekistan (further – concept of the report)”. The main goal of the given report is development of the strategy of creating special export zones and techno parks in Uzbekistan, on the basis of deep study of international experience with taking into account features of the Uzbekistan legislation, and also geographical, economical and ecological factors, labor and scientific potential, level of economic development of the region

Questions: During the discussion the concept of the project was underlined that creating special economic zones, in particular special export zones and techno parks, is relevant issue in diversification of the economy and in provision competitive branches through realization of innovative projects.
